Tiny House of the Year is a friendly competition between tiny home owners (owners of homes under 500 square feet). It’s free to enter and there are no cash prizes – but open to any tiny home owner over the age of 18 (void where prohibited – see the Official Rules).
To enter, tiny home owners simply write-up their tiny house story and post photos and videos. Entries will be accepted through November 15, 2016. It’s also free to enter – no entry fee!
The entry form can be found online at http://tinyhouseoftheyear.com/entry-form/.
Starting on November 16, 2016, the public will be able to vote on their favorite tiny homes and tiny home features. Voting will end on December 31, 2016 and winners will be selected for Tiny House of the Year in 12 categories. The 12 categories are:
- Best Tiny House (Tiny House of the Year!)
- Best Interior Design
- Best Exterior Design
- Best Front Door
- Best Kitchen
- Best Bathroom
- Best Stairs
- Best Ladder
- Best Loft
- Best Transforming Furniture
- Best Storage Feature
- Best Use of Reclaimed Materials
The winner of the Best Tiny House category will be honored as the overall winner of the competition. Winners will also receive a Unique Tiny Trophy designed by tiny house designer, Michael Janzen.
The purpose of the competition is to celebrate tiny homes and the people that have chosen extreme downsizing as a lifestyle.
We hope that the public will find inspiration in the online collection of tiny houses this competition will bring together – and that the contestants enjoy the positive feedback.
The Tiny House of the Year competition is organized and hosted by the folks at TinyHouseDesign.com – who’ve been blogging about the Tiny House Movement since 2008. TinyHouseDesign.com is dedicated to inspiring and empowering people.
