SHED Tiny House Base Camp on Wheels integrated ‘Gear Room’ storage! (It fits everything in this picture!)

We wanted our tiny house to support our outdoor lifestyle which is a passion that can require a lot of ‘gear.’ Of our 204 total square feet, we dedicated 24 square feet to a dedicated storage space for all of these tools that we consider essential to our health and happiness. We included the video above because it has a time lapse video (near the end) of us fitting everything displayed in front of our house, into the gear room!

While it is less impressive in appearance when compared to the rest of our home, it remains one of the most important portions of our home and ensures that we can live the tiny minimalist life while still being able to be adventures and collect the most important things in life: experiences!

Our gear room is an average of 3′ deep, 7′-9″ wide and 7′ tall. That is around 162 cubic feet of space which is a more appropriate way to talk about a space that has floor to ceiling storage. It holds everything we need with room to spare but also has two other important functions. This additional non-living space provides a perfect location for mechanical equipment that many would rather not see or have inside their living spaces, including our electrical panel and propane water heater. Also, this additional space on the tongue end of our trailer allows the addition or subtraction of items prior to travel to allow us to hone in on the preferred +/- 12% tongue weight.

Cheers!

Robert+Samantha 🙂
